Usage: If you deliver over rougher terrain, and perhaps have demanding and mission critical needs, it is likely that nothing less than new equipment can "deliver" to your requirements. If, however, you deliver to local suburban roadways, and mostly residential, often having a backup, then maybe you don't need to invest more capital in having brand new equipment. There are varying degrees here, judge your situation for yourself!

Overall Budget: Certainly having more money to spend, makes buying brand new a more likely option. If you have that option, you may be doing yourself better to invest a little more, but have a new vehicle warranty, and know exactly how your delivery vehicle has been maintained from day 1.

Your Business Particulars: Perhaps you have a full time mechanic at your shop. That might make you the perfect candidate for a used tank or truck. Someone who can make it efficient for you to maintain used equipment may be a competitive angle you should take advantage of. What about Changeovers?
If you have either a tank or a truck that is in really good shape, (but the other half of the team is past it's time) don't get rid of it. A Changeover in either direction makes great sense for you.
